We were over $100k in debt and I (Todd) had just taken a “promotion” with my work that forced us to move to Kent, WA in the Seattle area.  It was a promotion because I received a title change and a future promise of a raise once we had accomplished what we set out to do in Washington before I would then move back to Idaho.  The problem was that it wasn’t enough money now or ever and we’d be in debt for at least a decade at that pace.  In addition to that, our daughter Olivia was about 1 year old and Rachel had just had a major back surgery so she was unable to work.

Long story short… we needed to make extra money.  Enter Etsy.  We first started with a cute little product that Rachel had made for our little Olivia to play with at church and to help her develop motor skills, they were called Quiet Books.  We signed up, figured out how to take the pictures, make the listing and we were ready to go!  We waited… and waited… nothing happened.  “If you build it, they will come” we thought.  We thought wrong.  Although, after about 9 days we GOT A SALE!   The “Cha-Ching” noise was an amazing feeling!  We were hooked.

Since then we went on to launch a baby/toddler clothing shop on Etsy and have made nearly $1 million in lifetime sales on Etsy just on that one shop in the last 4 years.  It’s been a phenomenal ride and we’ve learned a lot on the way, made plenty of mistakes and keep learning and growing each and every day.  Today we sell on Amazon, Shopify and of course, Etsy.  My wife Rachel and I enjoy doing this full time(30-40 hours per week combined) and love how great of a quality of life we’ve gained.

What a life-changing decision it was to start selling on Etsy.  We’re here to help you start and grow your Etsy business and hope that you too can make your dreams come true.
